General

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, we have a three night minimum stay. Check in is 16.00 and check out is 11.00

Can I book by the room?

No, we rent the chateau out exclusively, meaning that when you stay at the Chateau you and your guests enjoy the entire Chateau to yourselves. Our pricing is based on a minimum of 15 people staying for three nights.

What do I need to do to reserve my dates? 

 Just give us a call, fill out the form on our booking page or email us directly. To avoid disappointment please reserve early.    

Are Skype tours available if we cannot make it to the Chateau before we book?

Yes, contact us directly at info@chateaudecourtomer.com to work out a suitable time for a Skype tour.  Please be aware that site visits and Skype tours can only be organized when we don’t have clients in residence. We also have video footage and hundreds of photos we can share with you as well.

Where is the Chateau and what is the best way to get there?

Chateau de Courtomer is a two-and-a-half-hour drive west of Paris, or an hour and a half train ride from Montparnasse station to L’Aigle. L’Aigle is a 25-minute taxi drive from Courtomer.

Pricing

What is the cost to rent your property? 

Our rates start at 4,950€ for a three-night stay for up to 15 people. Additional guests are charged at 300€ per person.

Is there a cleaning fee? 

Yes, 400€ for up to 15 people. Additional guests are charged 30€ per person.

Do you charge a corkage fee? 

No, we do not. 

What is the deposit fee? 

To hold your dates, we require a 1,000€ reservation fee. This can be made via PayPal or bank transfer, and must be in Euros.

Accommodation

Is there air conditioning in the Chateau?

We don’t have air conditioning in the Chateau but can make fans available to clients in the event of hot weather. Normandy is not renowned for fierce heat, Summer temperatures during July and August average around 20°C.

Is there central heating?

The Chateau is designed to be comfortable throughout the year and all rooms are centrally heated. We also provide wood for open log fires in the winter months.

We have guests who will be staying off site. Do you have recommendations as to the best places around the Chateau?

There is a wide range of accommodation around the Chateau, for our latest updates on the best ask for our Vendors list.

Is Housekeeping included?

Housekeeping isn't included in our standard rental. You should allow 10€ per person per day if you require this service. This includes servicing the rooms, tidying and making up the beds. It needs to be booked and paid for in advance.      

Are there linens for the tables?

We have tablecloths at the Chateau but as most of our wedding clients like to have a color scheme and need a change of cloth for each service, we find that they tend to hire cloths via the caterer of their choice. We would recommend that you do this.

How many plates, silverware, napkins, glassware is at the Chateau?

We provide a range of simple but elegant tableware, glasses and cutlery for our clients, however for special occasions our clients tend to hire in the tableware that fits with the style of their event. The Farmhouse is equipped for 11 guests.

Concierge

Is there a concierge service available?

Yes! Heather is bilingual in French and English and will be on site if you book concierge services otherwise she is just a Whats App or text away.

What services are included with this addition?

For guests that book this service, Heather will be on hand for around an hour a day to help sort out things such as taxi bookings, reservations for restaurants, advice on what to see and do around, etc.

What is not included?

This service does not include wedding planning or co-coordinating your event. We are pleased to work with a number of talented planners, and they are included on our Vendors list. 


Food

What is the closest farmers market? How often is it open?

We have lots of lovely markets around the Chateau two of the best are in Mortagne and Bellême on Saturday and Thursday morning respectively. Details of all local markets are in our Welcome Pack which will be sent to you once you have booked with us.

What is the closest grocery store?

Courtomer village is just a few minutes drive from the Chateau and has an excellent baker and butcher who cooks wonderful prepared dishes and pâtés. There is also a small convenience store, cider shop and hardware store.  Otherwise there are larger supermarkets in Sees, Mortagne, Aigle and Alençon, some of which run online ordering services so you can collect groceries. There are no supermarkets that deliver to the Chateau.

Is it possible to provide a list and have the groceries delivered to  the Chateau upon arrival? 

No we don’t offer this service but we can provide your first day’s breakfast and a Welcome buffet if required. Please refer to the service section of the site regarding menus and pricing. 

We can also organize a range of formal and informal dining options, provided by a private chef. A list of chefs and caterers is available on request. All catering must be booked and paid for in advance. 

Is it possible to have wine, beer and champagne delivered to the Chateau?

Yes, some local wine merchants will deliver but please note that all deliveries should be scheduled during your stay. Please ask Beatrice at our office for the correct address to ensure that your deliveries arrive on time.


Transportation

Do guests generally rent their own cars?

Yes, to get the most out of your stay with us you need to have transport. For large groups we can provide details of chauffeur driven coach and minivan companies.

What type of shuttle services do you provide and what is the cost?
