We had a fantastic stay in Courtomer!
All our guests were charmed, and we did not even want to leave.
Congratulations for the fantastic job done for the maintenance and the decoration of the house. All has been done with great taste and great efficiency!
This was my third trip to Courtomer and it just keeps getting better and better. It’s classically decorated but not fussy… very comfortable, it just feels like you are staying in someone’s home. And that you are. The grounds are gorgeous, too, and great fun to wander around.
I’ve been going to Chateau de Courtomer every year (sometimes twice a year) since 2008 for work conferences. The accommodations and food are top notch. You really feel like you are at home. The amenities are wonderful for a nice relaxing holiday… bikes, outdoor games, firepit, billiards room, strolls around the property and into town. Beyond what is available at the Chateau, I would highly recommend taking a day to do a side trip to the D-Day beaches.
We had an amazing time at the chateau! We had a small 30 person wedding and had some family stay at the chateau during a four night period. It was a beautiful place and the chateau had everything we could possibly need. The decor is amazing and there are so many rooms that each have unique touches. The grounds are also beautiful. Working to arrange the rental for the wedding was straight forward and very easy. We had the ceremony in the grand salon and it was truly a beautiful setting. We also had wedding dancing in the Orangerie. All of our guests loved it! We will definitely be returning for anniversaries. I highly recommend the chateau for events.
As much as a Chateau this elegant can feel like home, anyway… since it’s really something beyond any experience you’ve probably ever had but it’s still safe to say, Courtomer is the perfect place for a writing retreat or any other relaxing but productive work event.
We rented the chateau with 3 other couples for a week’s adventure in the French countryside. Chateau Courtomer proved to be a very convenient location for our day trips to Normandy and Bayeux. Although the castle had 15 bedrooms, 14 foot ceilings and a dining table for 30 people, it felt warm and inviting.
This was my first stay at the chateau and I was unsure what to expect. After arriving by car at the chateau, the immediate charm and elegance of the setting was my first impression. The gravel driveway allows you to see the working aspects of the chateau as you approach the grand house which has a moat-like water body on two sides. The front of the chateau is exactly like the photos on the website…..majestic and stately.
I have visited Chateau de Courtomer at least eight times since 2006 for work functions… it’s only gotten better over the years. The rooms are excellent, retaining the character and history of a 400 year old building. Each room has a bathroom that is hotel quality. Be sure to explore the grounds, each building has a life of it’s own and each lends a bit to the overall story of the Chateau.
This was my first time staying in a chateau and it was every bit the delightful experience I had hoped for. The Chateau is located close enough to the village to be convenient, all while enabling you the feeling of being lost to another era.
The chateau is absolutely beautiful and the bedrooms with en suite baths are perfect. We had many relaxing days at the chateau, sitting in the afternoon sun drinking wine. A few days we drove to various surrounding towns for sight seeing including a drive to Normandy beaches. The chateau is the ideal place to stay to get a real sense of France.
